Meek Mill: US rapper quits smoking like Snoop Dogg

First Snoop Dogg (52), now Meek Mill (36): Both rap artists have stopped smoking. On the short message service X (formerly Twitter) Mill announced this decision to his fans. He was inspired by Snoop Dogg to change his lifestyle: “Snoop is starting the non-smoking challenge and we’re taking part! It’s not healthy for me!” In another tweet Meek Mill said he was doing this on medical advice.

He already has a small case of pulmonary emphysema and his doctor told him that smoking would “cut his life in half.” He was addicted to nicotine and the new type of marijuana contained far too many chemicals for him. It was simply “too risky to play with my mind,” Mill continued.

Pulmonary emphysema is an incurable overinflation of the alveoli in the lungs. Various lung diseases can cause this phenomenon, for example chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A major risk factor is tobacco smoke, which can lead to inflammatory changes in the lung tissue. The symptoms of pulmonary emphysema vary in severity; those affected usually complain of shortness of breath and shortness of breath. If the condition is severe, it can also lead to increased strain on the heart.

Snoop Dogg’s reason for quitting smoking is still unknown

Just a few hours before Meek Mill’s post, Snoop Dogg also announced that he would no longer smoke. He wrote a statement on social media and also asked for privacy. Together with his family and after long considerations and discussions, he decided to stop smoking. It is not yet known whether Snoop Dogg also has health problems.

His heavy marijuana consumption, which he also celebrated on stage, was one of the rapper’s trademarks. According to his own statements, he even employed an employee who was only responsible for building joints for him. In an interview with “GQ” magazine, he once said that he smokes around 80 blunts, i.e. tobacco leaves filled with marijuana, every day.
