According to the “Tagesspiegel”, a police spokeswoman has not yet been able to give more details about the planned security measures, but preparations have already begun. Selenskyj is expected to land at the military part of the capital’s BER airport, according to the spokeswoman. So far, there has been no official confirmation of the visit or the program from the federal government or from Ukraine.

According to the newspaper “BZ”, Selenskyj should check in at the Hotel Ritz-Carlton. Because of the visit, the highest security level 1 should apply around Potsdamer Platz, where the hotel is located. A police operation with barriers, identity checks, snipers and explosives dogs is planned. On May 14, he is to be officially received with military honors by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz. After that, a helicopter flight to Aachen is planned, where he will be honored with the Charlemagne Prize.
