McDonald’s Hong Kong Launches McNuggets Land in The Sandbox

McDonald’s Hong Kong has chosen The Sandbox to launch its first Web3 experience by creating “McNuggets Land”, a virtual world in celebration of Chicken McNuggets’ 40th anniversary.

McNuggets Land will take users through a virtual shop with a secret factory and a tour through the history of the Nuggets, allowing gamers to play and complete missions to earn rewards such as The Sandbox tokens, which can be used to purchase virtual items and customize their platform avatars.

Hong Kong residents can also get a free 365-day Chicken McNuggets coupon to redeem at affiliated restaurants.

Sebastien Borget, co-founder and chief operating officer of The Sandbox, said in a statement: The partnership with McDonald’s will take The Sandbox to “another level” and bring it “closer to the ultimate goal of mass adoption of the metaverse.”
