Maybrit Illner serves a cauldron of colorful media

If all talk shows followed the same pattern, the programs would quickly become even more boring than they often already are. So the panelists have now come up with all sorts of special formats. This includes, for example, incorporating an individual conversation into the show for one of the guests, which is usually recorded beforehand. As long as it’s about the same topic that the rest of the group is discussing, it’s a little unfair at best. Because the guest with the special conversation naturally gets a lot more speaking time than the other guests and the other guests cannot simply interrupt the special guest. It’s a one-on-one conversation. Things always get complicated when the privileged special guest is asked about things that are interesting but have nothing to do with the topic of the show. Then it becomes an irritating mishmash.
