Max Verstappen wins Red Bull for third consecutive win of season

Casually, it’s starting to mean something. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won the Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix this Sunday, increasing his lead over Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) in the world championship with this third success in a row. As he explained to us before the last French Grand Prix, the Dutch driver is overflowing with ambition this season and this new success only confirms that. This Sunday evening, he is 32 points ahead of the British driver from Mercedes.

Untouchable at home on the Red Bull Ring, from where he started from pole position, Verstappen also offered the fifteenth victory of his career, the fifth in nine rounds this season. Finland’s Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Briton Lando Norris (McLaren) completed the podium ahead of Hamilton, fourth. On the French side, Sebastian Ocon had to give up after just a few laps while Pierre Gasly, ninth, returned to the points.
