Footballer Max Kruse shoots against the German Corona policy: he is annoyed by different regulations in the federal states and the longer valid convalescent status in the Bundestag.

Even if there are fewer and fewer so-called “guys” in professional football – Max Kruse is definitely one. The attacker is known for not mincing his words and thus repeatedly offends. Kruse has now answered questions from fans in a live stream on the Twitch platform and also commented on German Corona policy.

The 33-year-old made no secret of what he thought of the Corona management in the Federal Republic – currently quite little. Above all, the footballer is bothered by the fact that different rules apply in different federal states, as he found out after moving from Union Berlin to VfL Wolfsburg. “I’m completely off track politically, I have no idea about politics. But I don’t understand how something like this is possible in Germany,” said Kruse.

Speaking of different regulations: Kruse is also massively bothered by the fact that the status of those who have recovered is handled differently in the Bundestag than for the rest of the population. While recently the status usually expires after three months, it is still valid for MPs for six months. “What the fuck, is there no corona in Parliament? Do they have corona antibodies flying around, or what?” Kruse got excited in the stream.

“At some point it’s good too. I understood that for a long time. All measures, all well and good. I think it’s okay to wear a mask. Vaccination should also be possible for my sake. But please: You can fool yourself, you don’t have to fool us.” , the striker continued. He did not respond to counter-arguments – such as new scientific findings.

Max Kruse on Corona: “Vaccination is good”

The federal government accuses Kruse of inaction. Other countries are further along there, he says: “The epidemics are spreading, vaccination is compulsory and everything is opening up again. And in Germany? Nothing, let’s wait and see. Fuck the economy in Germany and stuff like that. The shops have to close, livelihoods break. It doesn’t matter – we’re going to chill out a bit more in the Bundestag.” Kruse was already ill with Corona in March 2020 – shortly after the outbreak of the pandemic – and, according to his own statement, had himself vaccinated twice: “I think vaccination is good.” The 14-time national player called for vaccinations in a television interview at the end of last year.

Kruse also commented on his not uncontroversial move from Union Berlin to VfL Wolfsburg during the winter break. Once again he openly admitted that he was primarily concerned with the higher salary with the wolves. “It doesn’t bother me whether people call me a mercenary or a money vulture or whatever. Everyone would probably do the same thing. I’ve said frankly that money does matter,” says Kruse. “I play football until I’m 35. You try to get the best out of it. For me it’s only human.”
