Moto3 update: Almansa declared unfit
In the crash in Q1, David Almansa hit the hand in which he broke bones in Qatar. We don’t have any more detailed information yet. But the doctors declared him unfit.
Maverick Vinales: “This is how it should continue”
Maverick Vinales (Aprilia/1st): “Thank you to all the fans and spectators! You were incredible all weekend. It feels like I’m dreaming. I want to continue in the same way. The level was great. I want to thank all the boys (in the team; R’s note). ) congratulate us, because we really deserve it.
Marc Marquez: “Tougher than expected”
Marc Marquez (Gresini-Ducati/2nd): “It was a little harder than expected. I was pretty strong in the first or second lap, but then I started to feel not so good. I decided to wait for my moment. I was at the front of the group.”
“When Pedro put pressure on me, I said to myself, okay, the time has come. In the next lap I was half a second faster and was able to open up a gap. Tomorrow we have to see where we can improve in the first sector to fight with Vinales.”
Jorge Martin: “A hard day”
Jorge Martin (Pramac-Ducati/3rd): “It was a tough day with the two crashes this morning. But I was able to get to the second row. It was a tough race. I struggled with a few problems, especially in the middle of the race. But Finishing on the podium is great. We’re consistent and that’s the most important thing we’ll try to do better tomorrow.”
MotoGP Sprint: What this means for the World Championship
Jorge Martin is now 24 points ahead of Enea Bastianini and 25 points ahead of Brad Binder.
Francesco Bagnaia is 28 points behind.
Maverick Vinales is 36 points behind Martin.
MotoGP Sprint: The other placings
Miguel Oliveira defends eleventh place against Brad Binder. Marco Bezzecchi follows at the end of the large group in 13th place.
There was no sign of Alex Marquez in the sprint. He turns 14.
The Yamaha duo Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins follow in 15th and 16th place.
Luca Marini is the last to see the checkered flag as the only remaining Honda.
MotoGP Sprint: Bastianini prevails over pursuers
In the large group from sixth place onwards, Enea Bastianini finally beat Jack Miller.
Francesco Bagnaia overtakes Raul Fernandez on the last lap and comes eighth.
Franco Morbidelli crossed the finish line in tenth place and came away empty-handed.
MotoGP Sprint: Acosta fourth
At the end, Pedro Acosta comes under pressure from Aleix Espargaro. But the youngest driver in the field can defend his fourth place against the oldest driver in the field.
MotoGP Sprint: CONFIDENT VICTORY FROM VINALES
From the start to the finish, Maverick Vinales drove confidently, even if he made small mistakes in between. The Aprilia rider is the fastest man today and wins his second sprint in a row after Portimao.
Marc Marquez comes second. On Thursday he said he would sign immediately if there was a place on the podium.
Jorge Martin came third, extending his championship lead.
MotoGP Sprint: Last lap
Vinales is two seconds ahead of Marc Marquez and on his way to victory.
There is still fierce fighting in the group from sixth place with Miller and Bastianini.

Miller is sixth and holding off the riders behind. Behind the KTM follow Bastianini, Raul Fernandez, Bagnaia, Morbidelli, Binder, Oliveira and Bezzecchi.

MotoGP Sprint: Vinales confident
The Aprilia rider maintains his lead over Marc Marquez at a constant two seconds.
Marquez, for his part, has a second lead over Martin.
Acosta can no longer keep up the pace and is now alone in fourth place.
The positions appear to have been taken.
MotoGP Sprint: Next Honda crash
Johann Zarco is eliminated due to a fall. So Honda only has Marini in 17th place in the race.
MotoGP Sprint: Marquez gets going
On the sixth lap, Marc Marquez becomes significantly faster and nibbles away a few tenths of Vinales’ lead.
With this, Marquez also shakes Martin/Acosta out of their slipstream.
