He is one of the most successful German actors: In Matthias Schweighöfer his inner child “rages”.
It is obviously not always easy for Matthias Schweighöfer (40) to keep his inner child under control. “I have a very strong inner child in me that is wild, that rages and that wants to be heard,” he explains in an interview with the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung”. The adult in him then has to intervene, but sometimes it just means: “Today is time to play, let’s go!”
The acting star apparently has a blooming imagination. This is “the only place in the world that no one can limit, only me”. Schweighöfer was born in 1981 in Anklam in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. He still grew up with the wall. “Then the wall fell and I swore to myself that I would never have such a limit in my imagination,” explains the 40-year-old.
“Always a big fan of Ruby”
Schweighöfer worked with Ruby O. Fee (25), with whom he has been in a relationship since 2019, on the upcoming film “Army of Thieves”, which is due to be released on Netflix on October 29th. She will be seen next to him, he also directed.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Ruby, and it never worked for her to appear in one of my films,” explains Schweighöfer. Fee is “such a great actress, and I really wanted this to finally work”. It was the “best decision” anyway, “because then came the most blatant lockdown of all time, and I wasn’t even allowed to travel from our location in Prague to Berlin. So it was great that she was there. And above all, she has the role played great! “
