Matthew Broderick, husband and colleague of Sarah Jessica Parker, has tested positive for the corona virus.

Matthew Broderick (60) will miss the upcoming Broadway performances of “Plaza Suite” – he has tested positive for the corona virus. On Tuesday night the production announced that Broderick had tested positive twice “despite strict adherence to Covid safety protocols”. With the statement, everyone wishes him a speedy recovery.

His wife Sarah Jessica Parker (57), who also plays in the play, tested negative and will appear in the evening. Michael McGrath (45) is now stepping in for Broderick. As reported by The Hollywood ReporterBroderick is expected to be able to return to the show on April 15.

Couple has not been on stage together for a long time

The play “Plaza Suite” premiered in New York’s Hudson Theater in February – two years late due to the corona pandemic. It is the first time that the couple has appeared on stage together since 1996. In “Plaza Suite” the two play three different couples.

In fact, Parker and Broderick have been married since 1997. They have three children, 19-year-old James Wilkie and 12-year-old twin sisters Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge. On the opening night of the Broadway play at the end of March, the kids also walked the red carpet.
