The 28.5 million talent has landed in Munich!
Mathys Tel (17) arrived at the VIP terminal at Munich Airport on Monday morning. The storm jewel from Stade Rennes is on the way to the medical check at FC Bayern.
Seven minutes after landing at 9:13 a.m., BILD caught the Frenchman (born in Sarcelles in the north of Paris) disembarking from a private plane (Cessna 560XL Citation XLS+) that he was taking from Paris airport. The newcomer was then picked up at the exit by the Bayern entourage led by player supervisor Johannes Mösmang (30).
Tel could train with the team for the first time tomorrow
Then Tel went to the first part of the medical check in the Munich Hospital Barmherzige Brüder! At 10:09 a.m., the offensive talent was brought up for examination by team internist Prof. Dr. Roland Schmidt (including heart and lung function).
After the second part of the medical check-up on Säbener Straße (orthopaedic examination), the contract until 2027 will be signed. He could train with his new team for the first time on Tuesday.

According to BILD information, the Bayern bosses pay Rennes a fixed fee of EUR 20 million for the top talent, in which Tel and his management participate with part of their commission, plus EUR 8.5 million in possible bonuses.

Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic (45) negotiated hard. The French rejected the first offers of 7 million plus 10 million euros in bonuses and 18 million plus 4.5 million euros in bonuses. Brazzo flew personally to Rennes on Monday for the third offer. In the end, both sides agreed on up to 28.5 million euros.
Why is the record champion spending so much money on a 17-year-old?
Julian Nagelsmann (35): “One day he can become one of the best strikers – that’s our plan. He can develop into a world-class player. I have a vision that one day he will score 40 goals.”
In the future, Tel would be the long-awaited goal machine replacement for world footballer Robert Lewandowski (33/for 45 million plus 5 million euros in bonuses to FC Barcelona).
According to BILD information, Tel could even take over shirt number 9 right away. So far it has remained free after the Lewy departure!
The coach: “He’s not a one-to-one replacement for Lewy – that’s normal at that age. Maybe he can score ten goals this season, then we would be very happy.”
In France, Tel is already celebrated as a mini-Mbappé. He should be just as fast, tricky and dangerous as PSG superstar Kylian Mbappé (23).
Tel (born in Sarcelles, north of Paris) captained the French U17s to the European title in June and has also played for the U18s. The Rennes racer made his Ligue 1 debut aged 16 years and three months.
But Mathys Tel has not yet scored a goal in his ten professional appearances!
The transfer role model is Real Madrid: The royals paid Flamengo Rio de Janeiro 45 million euros for wing jewel Vinicius Junior (22) in 2018. In May he scored the decisive 1-0 win against Liverpool in the Champions League final.
Now Bayern are hoping for a mega deal with top talent Tel!
