Stefanos Tsitsipas made it to the final of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Mason/Ohio near Cincinnati. The 24-year-old Greek beat tennis world number one Daniil Medvedev from Russia 7: 6 (8: 6), 3: 6, 6: 3 in the semifinals.

Tsitsipas thus managed to take revenge for the semi-final defeat at the Australian Open at the end of January. In the final, Tsitsipas meets the Croatian Borna Coric, who after Rafael Nadal, Roberto Bautista Agut and Félix Auger-Aliassime defeated the British Cameron Norrie 6: 3, 6: 4 in the semifinals. World No. 152, Coric is the lowest-ranked finalist in tournament history. The 25-year-old dropped back to 278th place due to a shoulder injury.
