In some places tourists are becoming a problem. Some governments are therefore trying to bring mass tourism under control with requirements and restrictions.

A look at summer this year shows: We are traveling (almost) like we did before the pandemic. For those of us who have been plagued by wanderlust, the freedom to travel again is an entirely good thing. However, the inhabitants of some places around the world had hoped for a different ending. With the return of tourism, the well-known problems of the industry are also returning.

One of them is certainly mass tourism. In many places this summer there were calls for help and protests from locals who are resisting the masses of visitors to their homeland. Partly for good reason: there is always massive misconduct by travelers in holiday resorts. Some destinations are now trying to curb the number of visitors.
