According to information from our colleagues from Provence, the former LR mayor of Aix-en-Provence Maryse Joissains, and until now still president of the territory council of the country of Aix, informed on Tuesday the prefect of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of his resignation of all these elective mandates, as of this Wednesday.
Maryse Joissains was definitively sentenced on November 4 to an eight-month suspended prison sentence and three years of ineligibility for embezzlement of public funds and illegal taking of interests. The court of cassation in fact rejected on that date the appeal lodged by the former mayor of the sub-prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône.
