Mary McCartney: Paul McCartney’s daughter publishes a cookbook

It all started in the studio of the British artist Peter Blake. Mary McCartney was a guest because she worked with Blake. To do him a favor, she stood in his kitchen and cooked for him. McCartney says she is a “feeder” and always has to provide everyone around her with food. To commemorate the meal with Blake, McCartney captured the moment on camera. In addition to cooking, photography is the 54-year-old’s second great passion.

This is how the idea for her cookbook “Feeding Creativity. A Cookbook for Friends and Family” came about. It contains around 60 of McCartney’s favorite recipes that she has prepared for friends and family members. Her famous father, Beatle Paul McCartney, is also represented, as is her sister, designer Stella McCartney. But Mary McCartney also served home-cooked food to celebrities such as actresses Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench and Drew Barrymore and photographed them with it. All dishes in McCartney’s book are vegan. In doing so, she is following in the footsteps of her mother Linda McCartney, who herself published vegetarian cookbooks and was a committed animal rights activist.

Mary McCartney, “Feeding Creativity. A Cookbook for Friends and Family” is in Bags Publishing appeared and costs 40 euros. All recipes are in English.
