Martinsried – trees have to give way to subway – district of Munich

The planning work for the extension of the U 6 to Martinsried is progressing. With the start of construction work for the construction of a park-and-ride facility, the project team has already set the first clearly visible sign. As announced by the municipality of Planegg, the next step is to start felling trees and further clearing work in the area surrounding the future new underground line. According to the municipality, the clearing time prescribed by nature conservation law is adhered to when choosing a date. The tree felling and clearing work is carried out in several steps: First, the trees and shrubs are felled. In the next step, the resulting wood is collected and transported away. This is followed by clearing and the removal of the root stocks before protective fences are erected for the duration of the construction work.
