Martinsried – starting signal for the life science campus – district of Munich

With the release of 30 million euros for the planning, the state government officially gave the go-ahead for the new life science campus in Martinsried on Tuesday, which includes the two institutes of the Max Planck Institute. “This is great news for my constituency and for Martinsried as a science location,” said Kerstin Schreyer, member of the Unterhachinger CSU state parliament. “Last but not least, the Corona crisis has made us aware of how important innovative research in the life sciences is for our society and economy.”

According to you, the new building will cost up to 600 million euros. The institute building, which dates back to the 1970s, could no longer be renovated. The first phase of construction is scheduled to begin in 2026. Schreyer expects that the Martinsried location will become even more attractive for top international research: “The new life science campus will help to create competitive jobs not only in research and development, but also in spin-offs and established biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies be able.”
