Marseille, Rennes and Toulouse roadblocks in C3, Lille qualified in C4

Frustrating evening for French football. In the Europa League, Marseille and Rennes, who had their destiny in their hands, lost at the end of the match against Brighton and Villareal on the last day of the group stage, Thursday. Result: the two clubs will have to go through the play-offs to hope to see the round of 16, just like Toulouse, which finishes behind Liverpool, and Lens, lost from the Champions League. In the Europa Conference League (C4), however, Lille won, a victory which allows it to be directly qualified for the round of 16.

The French clubs will know their opponents on Monday, during the draw which takes place in Switzerland. For Lens, it will be one of the teams (outside France) which finished 2nd: AS Rome, Karabakh, Sporting, Friborg or Sparta Prague. For Marseille, Toulouse and Rennes, this will be Galatasaray, Braga, Benfica, Feyenoord, AC Milan, Young Boys or Chakhtior.

. Qualified for the round of 16: West Ham, Brighton, Glasgow Rangers, Atalanta Bergamo, Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Villarreal, Salvia Prague.

. Qualified for the accession roadblocks (round trip): Sporting Portugal, Fribourg, Marseille, Sparta Prague, Toulouse, Rennes, AS Rome, Qarabag.

. Reversed from the Champions League in the accession play-offs: Feyenoord Rotterdam, Young Boys Bern, AC Milan, Benfica Lisbon, Braga, Galatasaray, Lens, Shakhtar Donetsk.

Europa League Conference (C4)

. Qualified for the round of 16: Lille, PAOK Salonika, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Viktoria Plzen, Club Brugge, Aston Villa, Fiorentina, Fenerbahce.

. Qualified for the accession roadblocks (round trip): Slovan Bratislava, Eintracht Frankfurt, Gent, Dinamo Zagreb, Bodø/Glimt, Legia Warsaw, Ferencvaros, Ludogorets.

. Reversed from the Europa League in the accession play-offs: Olympiakos, Ajax Amsterdam, Betis Seville, Sturm Graz, Union Saint-Gilloise, Maccabi Haifa, Servette FC, Molde.
