At 12.30 p.m. no one knows, but Markus Söder will soon talk in great detail about his promises and the fact that he has kept practically all of these promises. His Prime Minister’s shoes clatter on the stone floor in the hallway, he turns left into room number five, which is called “seminar room rhetoric” in the former Banz monastery. That’s what it says next to the wooden door, painted in squiggly letters. Söder takes a few steps across the blue carpet, climbs the step to the stage, then stands at the microphone, blue tie in front of a blue CSU canvas. Still no one knows what’s going to happen next. But if the appearance that Söder is about to make was really a rhetoric seminar, it could have this title, for example: “Appear confidently in every situation.”
