The broadcast was scheduled for midnight, but the broadcaster had to change its program at short notice. After the program was canceled on Wednesday, a spokesman for the production company “Mhoch2 TV” said: “We hope for your understanding and are in good spirits that our presenter will be back tomorrow.” Apparently, Markus Lanz is hit harder than initially feared and has to take a break for the second day in a row.

Lanz himself has a 50 percent stake in the production company “Mhoch2 TV”. Since 2011 he has been producing his talk show together with his business partner Markus Heidemanns, who owns the other 50 percent.
