A 36-year-old has been charged with the murder of his wife in Marktheidenfeld, Lower Franconia. The public prosecutor’s office assumes that the man killed the 33-year-old for base reasons because, in his opinion, the wife had brought shame on the family, as a spokesman for the authority in Würzburg announced.
The woman wanted to separate from her husband, but he could not accept it. During an argument in their shared apartment in March of this year, the man is said to have stabbed the woman at least eight times. She later died in hospital.
The man also inflicted several stab wounds on himself with the intention of committing suicide. The Afghan was arrested after the incident and has been in custody since March. The couple has four children. They came into the care of the youth welfare office.
