War is an integral part of human history, from the earliest civilizations to the Ukraine War. At the same time, he kept changing. What are the similarities and what are the differences between then and now? A conversation with historian Anke Fischer-Kattner from Markt Schwaben.

Anke Fischer-Kattner has lived in Markt Schwaben since 2013 and works as a historian of the early modern period at the Bundeswehr University in Munich. The 41-year-old researches the cultural history of violence and war and has dealt intensively with the experiences of people in siege situations. She argues that looking at the history of the war can help to better understand what is happening in Ukraine today.
