Markt Schwaben: man seriously injured in fire – Ebersberg

In a fire on Friday evening, November 12th, in Markt Schwaben, a 43-year-old was so seriously injured that his life was in danger. The police announced on Saturday. It must be expected with the death of the person, it says in the press release. The Kripo Erding took over the investigation.

Shortly before 4.45 p.m., the integrated control center in Erding was informed of a strong smoke development in a building in the Wiegenfeld used as a warehouse and workers’ accommodation. When the notified fire brigade from the area arrived, a 43-year-old Polish citizen was in a room from which thick smoke was emanating.

Although the fire that was burning in the room was quickly extinguished by the fire services, the man was so seriously injured that he had to be taken to a nearby hospital while resuscitation measures were ongoing. His health is still very critical.

The fire investigators of the criminal police have started investigations into the cause of the fire. However, so far there have been no indications of third-party negligence or a technical defect, according to the police.

The property damage amounts to around 1000 euros, the building itself remained undamaged. No other people were injured.
