Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, formerly Facebook, shared how the metaverse will be an integral part of his business. and will generate hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue “Our practice is to try to serve as many people as possible.”
Mark Zuckerberg on Metaverse
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg talked about the metaverse in an interview with CNBC’s Mad Money host Jim Cramer.
The Facebook co-founder explained that he expects the metaverse to be huge and become a key part of the company’s business over the next decade. Zuckerberg said of Meta’s metaverse efforts:
“We are building more and more services and trying to serve as many people as possible — basically. We hope to reach a billion people in the metaverse,” he continued, adding that people can “Buy digital products, digital content. [หรือ] things for self-expression” in the metaverse.
An example of what people can buy are: “Clothing for an avatar or any digital goods for a virtual home. or objects to decorate a virtual conference room,” Zuckerberg said, adding that people can also buy “Utilities to be able to work more efficiently in virtual and AR worlds and across the metaverse.”
However, he acknowledged that there is still a long way to go, saying:
“I still think it will take some time to reach the level of hundreds of millions or billions of people in the metaverse. It will take some time to get there.”
“I think we’ll get there, but you know, the other services we operate are already quite large today,” he confirmed.
Zuckerberg envisioned experiences in the metaverse to be more realistic than text, images, or video, noting that people can see each other’s eyes when they meet in the metaverse.
