Mario Barth made headlines at the weekend when he was kicked out of Deutsche Bahn. The comedian made fun of it on Instagram. Possibly not without ulterior motives.

Whether he’s funny and has a good sense of humor – that’s a great argument. But the fact that Mario Barth has mastered the game with the media is undisputed. At the weekend, the comedian staged his expulsion from Deutsche Bahn with a 45-minute video that he posted on Instagram.

Barth was expelled from the train on the way to Frankfurt because he did not wear a mask at times. In Hanau he was received by two police officers. The video has been viewed 400,000 times and commented on by countless fans. Deutsche Bahn also reacted and wrote: “Masks are compulsory on our trains, you know?”

The incident attracted extensive media coverage (including the star reported). In the Cologne newspaper “Express” Barth was even the lead on Monday. In an Insta story, the comedian has now made fun of it: “Thanks for the front page,” he wrote about a picture showing the “Express”.

In another photo, he called on his followers to provide him with material: “If you find more front pages or articles, send them to me and I’ll post them.” In a third picture he showed a photo of a Berlin tabloid – and was downright disappointed about it: “BZ only last page,” he wrote, and placed the video of a laughing Mario Barth next to it.

This shows: The 49-year-old started a small wave with his video published on Saturday – and now intends to exploit it according to all the rules of the art.

Is it coincidence? His big anniversary tour “Men are pigs, but women are also 2.0” starts on April 22nd. The comedian will then be on the road until summer 2023 and will appear on around 50 dates in the large halls and arenas of the republic. Tickets are still available for many of these shows. A little publicity just before the tour starts can’t do any harm.
