Mario Balotelli caused a sensation in the Turkish league when his current club Adana Demirspor played against Galatasaray Istanbul with a curious action.
After Yunus Akgün took the lead in Demirspor’s 2-0 win, he was celebrated frenetically by his teammates. Balotelli was one of the well-wishers, but didn’t opt for the usual hug or the obligatory pat on the back of the head.
The 31-year-old swung his left leg in the back of the goalscorer to pat Akgün with a kick. It was obviously a friendly gesture, Balotelli met his teammate only lightly.

While the scene on the net caused laughter, Akgün even went one better and also scored the second goal of the day.
For Balotelli’s club, to which he came from Monza on a free transfer in the summer, things are not going badly anyway. After 18 matchdays Demirspor is fourth with 29 points. Balotelli has already contributed six goals and two assists in the Süper Lig.
