Marine Le Pen wants to give back “a central place” to the Overseas Territories

Marine Le Pen promises to give overseas a “central place”. The candidate of the National Rally proposed again to devote to it a “large ministry of state” and a program law for 15 years, to fight against “illegal immigration” and to reform the dock dues.

“Our overseas compatriots have never felt so abandoned, despised (…). Crime, migratory flooding, cost of living (…), record unemployment rate, not to mention the too many untreated health or ecological crises ”, denounced during a press conference the candidate of the National Rally, who flies away Wednesday evening for Mayotte then Reunion.

“A large French Ministry of State for Overseas and Maritime Policy”

“Under my presidency and under my government, the Overseas France so dear to my heart will regain the central place it deserves,” said Marine Le Pen, who came first in the Overseas Territories in the 2019 European elections, after a progression to the 2017 presidential election. The candidate once again affirmed that she wanted to create “a large French Overseas Minister of State and maritime policy”, with a “program law for 15 years”, to provide each territories of a military “ship of sovereignty”, and to fight “without concessions” against illegal immigration with its referendum project.

In favor of purchasing power, she reiterated her desire in particular to exempt French and EU products from dock dues (tax on overseas products, which finances the municipalities, Editor’s note), and to compensate for the lack of earn by the overall operating endowment.
