Marine Le Pen comes first in the Overseas Territories

Overseas voters opened the ballot this Saturday, and they placed Marine Le Pen well ahead of this second round of the presidential election.

The RN candidate wins 69.60% in Guadeloupe, 60.87% in Martinique, 60.70% in Guyana, as well as Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon (50.69%), and in Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin (55.42%), according to figures released Sunday evening by the Ministry of the Interior. Places where Jean-Luc Mélenchon had made significant scores in the first round. Between 2022 and 2017, Marine Le Pen has thus gained more than 47 points in Martinique, 36 points in Guadeloupe, and more than 25 points in Guyana.

“My thanks go particularly to our compatriots from the provinces and the countryside, but also from overseas, who largely placed me at the head of the second round with an extraordinary force which honors me and touches me sincerely. This too forgotten France, we, we do not forget it, ”declared Marine Le Pen during her speech delivered following the announcement of the results.

Conversely, the Pacific put the candidate president in first position: Wallis and Futuna (67.44%), New Caledonia (38.96%), French Polynesia (48.20%). Results in line with those of the first round, since Macron was already in the lead in these departments.

The results of the second round of the territories of the Indian Ocean, Mayotte and Reunion, will fall them later in the evening. In Mayotte, Marine Le Pen came first in the first round with 42.67% of the vote ahead of Jean-Luc Mélenchon (23.96%). In Reunion, it was Jean-Luc Mélenchon who led the first round (40.26%) ahead of Marine Le Pen (24.73%).
