It was minus one. Marine Le Pen and Éric Zemmour have (finally) obtained the famous 500 sponsorships of elected officials necessary to stand for the presidential election. According to the statement published Tuesday by the Constitutional CouncilÉric Zemmour had 620 sponsorships on Tuesday and Marine Le Pen 503. The institution also indicated on its site that the sovereignist candidate Nicolas Dupont-Aignan also had enough signatures to stand for election: 532.
The contenders for the Elysée have until Friday 6 p.m. to send their precious sesame to the Constitutional Council, which will then have to verify that the sponsorships come from at least 30 different departments.
