Evan Rachel Wood accuses Marilyn Manson of “horrific” abuse. Now the musician is defending himself against the allegations in court and is demanding money from his ex-girlfriend because his career would have suffered from the allegations.

Controversial US shock rocker Marilyn Manson, 53, has sued his former partner, actress Evan Rachel Wood, 34, for defamation.

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles. He linked the documents on Instagram. In a message he wrote that one day he would be able to say more about the events. For now, he would let the facts speak for themselves.

In the lawsuit, he alleges that Wood and her friend Illma Gore publicly portrayed him as a rapist and abuser and encouraged other women to make allegations against him. Manson claims that his career was damaged as a result. He demands damages in an undisclosed amount.

Wood accused her ex-boyfriend of years of “horrible” abuse in an Instagram post in February 2021. The singer had immediately rejected this at the time. His art and life have long been “magnets of controversy,” but the claims about him are “terrible distortions of reality,” he wrote on Instagram.

Police are investigating Marilyn Manson

Other women have brought allegations or lawsuits against 53-year-old Manson for sexual or physical violence in recent months. The police launched an investigation. Last November, officers searched the rocker’s Los Angeles home. According to a previous release from the sheriff’s office, the investigation involved allegations of domestic violence between 2009 and 2011 when Manson lived in West Hollywood.
