After “Barbie”, Margot Robbie is taking on the next famous toy: she is producing a film about the board game Monopoly.

Margot Robbie (33) films one toy after the next. As the industry portal “Variety” reports, among others, the actress and producer will now bring a film about Monopoly to the big screen after the success of “Barbie”. Accordingly, a live-action film about the popular board game – produced by Robbie’s production company LuckyChap and the toy manufacturer Hasbro – is in the works at Lionsgate.

Monopoly film is said to be “the next blockbuster”.

It is not yet known how the two-dimensional world of Monopoly will be turned into a story for the cinema, who could slip into the role of the famous Monopoly man or whether Robbie himself will be in front of the camera. However, at the CinemaCon trade show in Las Vegas, Lionsgate chairman Adam Fogelson said that LuckyChap had “a clear vision” for the Monopoly film. He believes the film could become “the next blockbuster.”

After all, Margot Robbie only managed to create a blockbuster about a popular toy last year: her “Barbie” film brought the famous plastic doll to life and became the most commercially successful film of 2023. Apparently, Robbie is supposed to be working with the production company LuckyChap, which, among other things, she and her husband Tom Ackerley (33) is also making a film about the computer game “Sims”.

LuckyChap’s past projects also include “I, Tonya” (2018), “Promising Young Woman” (2020) and “Saltburn” (2023).
