First details about the “Ocean’s” prequel
As Ken and Barbie, Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie delighted millions of cinema viewers worldwide. The duo is now working together again.
“Doing the right thing for the franchise”
In an interview with “Games Radar” on the sidelines of the BFI London Film Festival, the producer initially said somewhat cautiously: “I can’t really say much, but I think we’re just trying to do the right thing for the franchise.” But he’s looking forward to “people being able to experience it when it’s finished.” He also hopes that this is the beginning of many more collaborations between the two stars. He has nothing but praise for the duo Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling: “They are wonderful together. It would be great to let them do more projects beyond that.”
The film has been in “active development” since last year and is set to take place in 1960s Europe. The prequel is being directed by Robbie’s production company LuckyChap Entertainment. “Austin Powers” director Jay Roach (66) was hired for the project.
The “Ocean’s” franchise was launched in 2001 by director Steven Soderbergh (60). “Ocean’s Eleven” was a remake of the 1960 crook flick “Frankie and his cronies.” George Clooney (62), Brad Pitt (59), Matt Damon (53), Julia Roberts (55) and many other stars appeared in it Film that grossed more than 450 million US dollars worldwide (around 225 million euros). A sequel titled “Ocean’s Twelve” was released in 2004, followed by “Ocean’s Thirteen” in 2007. In 2018, “Ocean’s 8” was released with a female-focused cast that included Sandra Bullock (59), Cate Blanchett ( 54) and Anne Hathaway (40).
