No more “Brisant” after 14 years |
Mareile Höppner switches to RTL
Not a good day for ARD.
Mareile Höppner (45) has been moderating the tabloid magazine “Brisant” for 14 years. Now she’s breaking up. BILD reported exclusively on Thursday: The TV woman is leaving ARD!
Where is the journey going? To RTL. Mareile Höppner becomes the new moderator of “EXTRA”. In addition to the magazine, she should also support the new colleagues Steffen Hallschaka (50) and Dieter Könnes (50) with the editions of “stern TV”.
“It’s just time for a change. I enjoyed working for ARD for a long time and now I’m looking forward to a new start. With new possibilities,” said Höppner to BILD.
After studying (German and Protestant religion for the teaching profession), Höppner initially started as a reporter at RTL Nord. Then she made a detour as a weather presenter on “Guten Abend RTL” and moderated the “Newstime” on ProSieben from 2004 to 2006.
After that, Mareile Höppner fell in love with the boulevard. “Sat.1 am Mittag”, the tabloid magazine “Blitz”, from 2009 to 2012 she hosted the MDR talk show “Riverboat”. Since 2008 she has presented the magazine “Brisant” broadcast on ARD on MDR.
In 2019, Mareile Höppner celebrated the 25th anniversary of “Brisant” together with colleague Axel Bulthaupt
And now the return to RTL!
Mareile Höppner on BILD: “RTL is coming home for me. That’s where I started my media journey over 20 years ago. And I appreciate that the broadcaster relies on women and strong female journalists. I see that as modern and absolutely contemporary. In that respect it is a real dream job.”
For all “Brisant” fans: The magazine remains beautiful! As BILD learned, SHE will be Mareile Höppner’s successor: Marwa Eldessouky. The Berliner with Egyptian roots has been at home at WDR for 12 years, among other things as a presenter of COSMO Radio.
