Marco Odermatt wins the Bansko giant

Sixth victory in six giants contested this winter for Marco Odermatt, big winner on Saturday in Bansko (Bulgaria) ahead of the Norwegian Alexander Steen Olsen (+0”91), first podium in the discipline, and the Austrian Manuel Feller (+1′ ’08).

This is the tenth success of the season for the Swiss, the 34th of his career in the World Cup, as many as Alexis Pinturault. Rather cautious in the first run, although he set the best time, Odermatt took more risks in the second, with a big scare when his right ski almost made him make a mistake during the course.

Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath fell and appeared to be injured in the left elbow.

On the French side, Léo Anguenot finished 15th (+2”32), his best ranking in the World Cup, and Thibaut Favrot 19th (+2”80).
