Manuel Neuer has had an operation on his right knee joint. The professional soccer player contacted his fans while he was still in the hospital.

Manuel Neuer (35) has successfully survived a knee operation. This was announced by the FC Bayern Munich soccer goalkeeper on Instagram. In a photo that shows him in a hospital bed, the footballer can be seen with a “thumbs up” gesture. “Hey guys, I had a small operation on my knee today. Everything went great,” confirms the 35-year-old.

“A good and speedy recovery”

According to his club, Neuer had a successful operation on his right knee on Sunday. The professional athlete will be out for several weeks after the procedure. However, the goalkeeper can probably “start the rehabilitation training soon,” he wrote on Instagram. His fans should keep their fingers crossed for him.

“All of us in the club and the whole team wish Manuel a speedy recovery and we are sure that he will soon be in top form with us again,” said sports director Hasan Salihamidzic (45) in a statement. And on Instagram, too, numerous wishes for recovery were received in the comments.
