A man is released from life imprisonment after more than thirteen years because there is no longer any urgent suspicion. One can blame the public prosecutor and the two criminal courts, which accused and sentenced Manfred Genditzki despite obvious doubts about his guilt. But the case also shows the deficits of German criminal procedure law in the treatment of wrongful convictions.
