It’s time for the most important game in European club football, the final of the 2022/23 Champions League season. On Saturday, June 10, 2023, top favorites Manchester City and Inter Milan meet in Istanbul from 9 p.m.
After the final defeat in 2020/21 (0:1 against Chelsea), Manchester City should finally win the long-awaited title, but captain Ilkay Gündogan warns of the opponent “You don’t have to artificially talk up this team to get respect for it to have them. […] The quality, especially on the offensive, is enormous and on the defensive they are very aggressive,” said the German national player to the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland”.
Praise can also be heard from Italy, with Inter striker Lautaro Martinez raving about the “Cityzens” in an interview on the UEFA website. “They are without question one of the best teams in the world. I like the way they play, it will be really difficult against them. But we also faced strong teams in the group stage and we did very well,” he said the world champion of 2022 quoted.
