Since the exact whereabouts of the man were not known, rescue workers monitored his health through the live stream throughout the night. The 19-year-old from the Nuremberg area was probably not so cold that one should have feared for his health, the police said. He woke up around 5:30 a.m. and eventually got off on foot. Initially, the investigators assumed that the young man was in a snow field on the Zugspitze. Only later could they have narrowed down the overnight stay to an area near the Hochalm at an altitude of about 1700 meters.
