Man sentenced for preparing cannabis packages for inmate

On January 31, in the middle of the night, a police patrol from the Béziers police station arrested the man, who had already been convicted several times for the use and possession of narcotics, while he was in a vehicle parked in the car park of the station.

The police had noted the presence, in the passenger compartment of the car, “of parcels made using potato fillets, a usual method used to illegally throw objects inside prisons”, indicates Raphaël Balland , the public prosecutor of Béziers.

These packages contained a total of 110 grams of cannabis resin and 2 grams of herbal cannabis. The 24-year-old man admitted that they were parcels intended to be given to an inmate of the Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone penitentiary center.
