Man hit – arrest warrant for attempted murder – Bavaria

A 29-year-old suspected wood thief has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery. As police and public prosecutors announced on Friday, the 29-year-old and a 34-year-old accomplice were allegedly caught by the owner while stealing wood from a wood warehouse in Wiesentheid (Kitzingen district).

Last Friday, the 44-year-old saw two people stealing wood on a wildlife camera and came to the site. The suspects then wanted to escape. When the 44-year-old got in their way, the 29-year-old drove slowly towards him and didn’t stop when the man was lying on the hood. He shook off the 44-year-old by steering, causing him to be slightly injured.

The police later initially temporarily arrested the suspects and then released them. On Tuesday, at the request of the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office, an investigating judge issued an arrest warrant against the driver of the getaway car on suspicion of attempted murder. The duo is also being investigated for robbery.
