Local residents made the macabre discovery. A 39-year-old man was found dead stuck in a manhole on Saturday morning in the city center of Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), reports West France. Several witnesses explained that the man’s body was upright and that his legs were sticking out of the manhole.
According to the first elements of the investigation, “there does not seem to be any intervention by a third party,” said Sylvie Canovas, public prosecutor of Saint-Nazaire. The accidental track therefore seems to be favored in this case. An autopsy of the victim’s body must be performed at the beginning of the week to determine the causes of death.
