Man found dead after car fell into river

The firefighters were called, this Wednesday, around 8 a.m., for a car that fell into the Brévenne river, in L’Arbresle (Rhône). Arrived on the scene, the emergency services discovered a deceased man at the wheel of the vehicle, reports Progress.

According to information from the local daily, the gendarmes would consider the trail of an accident. They believe that the car fell from a nearby parking lot, partially submerging in the river. The coldness of the water and that of the night would have led to the death of the victim, aged around fifty. No trace of intervention by a third party was found.

An investigation was opened by the gendarmerie to determine the exact circumstances of the facts.
