Man dies in fire at Emmaus home

A 67-year-old man died on Saturday evening in the fire in his room in an Emmaüs home in Pont-Evêque (Isère), a small town located about thirty kilometers south of Lyon. The fire could have been caused by his respirator, we learned on Sunday from concordant sources.

The firefighters said they intervened around 8 p.m. in this one-story building, to control the fire, limited to the victim’s room located on the ground floor. The sexagenarian was in a medical bed, according to the police, which specifies that “the origin of the fire would be the victim’s respirator”.

The other occupants of this home near Vienna have been relocated to a second building, in the same place.
