A diver has died after an accident in an indoor swimming pool in Swabia. Several members of a diving club were in the pool in Immenstadt im Allgäu (Oberallgäu district) on Sunday when the 56-year-old man swallowed water when surfacing and then had to be resuscitated.
According to police information on Monday, the diver died in hospital despite immediate medical attention. There are currently no indications of foul play or misconduct on the part of the other divers.
Officials are therefore assuming a medical emergency. Further investigations were ongoing.
