He dreamed of slaughtering goats: a man chops off his own penis in his sleep

He was alone at home, nodded off and sleepwalked: A farmer from Ghana cut off his own penis in his sleep. He survived but now needs extensive surgeries.
It is a frightening incident that took place in Ghana on August 12th. A man has been hospitalized after hacking off his penis in his sleep, the BBC reports. In the meantime, the farmer named Kofi Atta is no longer in mortal danger and was able to comment on the accident – and it is an extremely bizarre story that led to his serious injury.
Atta, who runs a small farm, had nodded off in a chair in his home after a hard day’s work. His wife had left the day before to visit family members and would not be back until the following morning. So while he was dozing, Kofi Atta said he dreamed of slaughtering goats, an activity he had to do regularly on his farm. But apparently the man was sleepwalking that evening. It is not known whether he had ever been inclined to do so before. He got a knife from the kitchen – and, still asleep, cut off his own penis.
His wife found him in time
He was very lucky that early the next morning his wife entered the house – and saw the terrible scene. She tried to stop the bleeding of the now unconscious farmer and alerted a doctor. Kofi Atta was taken to the small local hospital for emergency treatment. His life is no longer in danger. However, you cannot do the necessary reconstruction surgery there that would be needed to restore your penis. This is only possible in the university hospital, which is further away, but where the treatment would cost a lot of money.
The man from Ghana cannot yet afford the operation there. However, he hopes for donations that can be used to restore his genitals.
