In the town of Kongsberg, west of Oslo, a man is running amok with a bow and arrow. Norwegian media report at least four deaths. The perpetrator has since been caught, his motive is still unclear.

Several people were killed and injured in an act of violence in Norway. The Norwegian police announced this at a press conference. The act took place around 6:30 p.m. in the center of the city of Kongsberg, around 80 kilometers southwest of Oslo. As reported by the Norwegian newspaper “Verdens Gang” and other media outlets, at least four people were killed.

The attacker was allegedly armed with a bow and arrow and is said to have been in several places in the city, including a grocery store. He was caught and taken to a police station in the neighboring town of Drammen. “According to our information so far, he carried out the acts alone,” said police chief Oeyvind Aas in front of reporters. There is no search for further suspects.
