Malik Harris represents Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest – opinion

Malik Harris has little chance of winning. The bookmakers see that Kalush Orchestra front in the Eurovision Song Contest. If you bet ten euros on the Ukrainians, you would get 16 back. On the other hand, if Harris won, there would be 2,500 euros. The Landsberger was ranked 25th by 40 national representatives with his song “Rockstars” before the semi-finals. That doesn’t bother him, he says, on the contrary, he would be happy if his Ukrainian colleagues triumphed on Saturday. Because he finds their song “Stefania” “simply awesome”. And because for him at the ESC, the competition is secondary. “This is a great event where all the different countries and cultures celebrate music together,” he says, “there is a political responsibility and now would be the right opportunity to make a mark.”
