Telekom and O2 among others affected

On Tuesday morning, numerous customers reported disruptions in Telekom, O2, 1&1 and Postbank services.
Apparently there was an increase in Internet disruptions among providers on the morning of May 21st, mainly in major German cities Telekom, O2 and 1&1 came. Postbank customers were also increasingly reporting disruptions.
Problems with Telekom
Loud of the “Netzwelt” portal The fault detector at Telekom is “noticeably high” – and this is mainly in large cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Frankfurt am Main. Many customers reported problems with the internet and the reception of MagentaTV.
“Due to a central technical problem, there may currently be problems logging into MagentaTV on all first-generation devices,” says a Telekom statement that the portal has made available. And it continues: “In addition, logging into the MeinMagenta app may fail, as may topping up prepaid credit. There may also currently be problems registering IP telephony.” The company is working hard to resolve the problem. Telekom writes something similar. on the social media platform X.
Problems with O2
As the portal also reports, there are currently increasing disruptions at O2, 1&1 and Postbank. O2 reports that the problems are related to those at Telekom. “Due to a disruption at our technical upstream service provider Deutsche Telekom, whose infrastructure we partially use to implement our fixed-line products (fiber optics, VDSL), there may currently be temporary restrictions for some O2 fixed-line customers,” said a spokesman the company the “Westfälischer Anzeiger”.. We are in close contact and regret the “temporary restrictions”. The provider’s mobile phone services are not affected.
Problems with 1&1 and Postbank
According to “Netzwelt”, it is currently not known what the internet problems are at 1&1. Here, too, there were mostly reports of disruptions from large cities on Tuesday morning. At Postbank there are problems with online banking itself, with registration or using the app, which apparently occur nationwide. Here too, the reasons are still unclear.
