Actually, Karen would have had a day off on Tuesday. Instead, for the second time in her life, the 51-year-old Welsh nurse took to the streets in the cold, wet British winter to fight for better wages. She’s been a nurse for 33 years, but she says she never even thought about going on strike. “But now we’ve reached a point where we can’t go on like this any longer.” Karen’s anger can also be felt over the phone on Monday.
