“Maischberger” and Co.
ARD political talk should be younger
A generational change is imminent at ARD. The political talk programs in particular should be younger. That is planned.
“As current social debates escalate, it is important to give younger people space to exchange arguments and convey different positions,” ARD program director Christine Strobl (52) is quoted as saying. The ARD wants to reach people under 50 in particular more effectively.
New concepts for Maischberger, Miosga and Klamroth
The programs “Caren Miosga”, “Maischberger” and “hard but fair” are central to this. From the new year, Caren Miosga (54) will take over Anne Will’s (57) slot on Sunday evenings and will discuss the most relevant topic of the week with guests on her show.
The weekly talk by Sandra Maischberger (57) should consist of in-depth conversations with one or two guests. According to the announcement, it will be “not just about politics,” but about “a wide range of topics from culture, science and society.” The show will also run several evenings a week, no longer just on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The format relies on “a series of flexible modules such as individual discussions and duels.” A panel still helps to classify daily events.
At “hart aber fair”, this generational change was carried out at the beginning of the year with Plasberg’s successor Louis Klamroth (33) as the new moderator. However, the show is to be developed digitally. The aim is to attract new groups of viewers to the ARD media library. What exactly this further development should look like is unclear.
The concepts are apparently not set in stone yet. The ARD emphasizes that contract negotiations are currently taking place and that these are subject to the approval of the responsible committees.
