Main battle tank rolls over SUVs and kills two members of the German armed forces

Two members of the Bundeswehr were fatally injured on a military training area in Lower Saxony. How the accident came about is still unclear.
Two people died on Tuesday in an accident at the Bergen military training area in Lower Saxony.
The Bundeswehr announced that a battle tank collided with a military off-road vehicle during an exercise. Two members of the armed forces were fatally injured.
Ministry of Defense in “deep mourning”
The exact course of events has yet to be determined. The military training area is in the south of the Lüneburg Heath. Because of the accident, the Ministry of Defense canceled a serenade to say goodbye to Parliamentary State Secretary Thomas Silberhorn at short notice.
There was a tragic incident on the military training area, wrote the army inspector, Lieutenant General Alfons Mais, on Twitter. And: “Our thoughts and our sympathy are with the bereaved and the troops on site.” The Department of Defense wrote: “We are in deep sorrow.”
